Seeing how agapeace is the ONLY responsible member of this band of misfits, he gets to babysit the rest of you degenerates!
Have fun, play nice....and don't make me come back here!
Thanks QDMAMAN....sometimes life and other priorities like Salmon fishing in August and trying to figure out how, when, or where kids will go to school take priority. Glad deer season is upon us and most all of that other stuff is out of the way!
What’s up fellas? I’m mike and I hunt Lapeer county public and private. A couple times a year I also like going to minden city public. Where does everyone else hunt at?
Hello everyone, first time on one of these teams. I’m Jake, I hunt a few different places- public land in Oakland county, Private land in Washtenaw and Genesee counties. I usually go with the 12 gauge only so I’m limited to firearm season only but I bought my first cross bow this year off another member of this site so I’m excited to get out a lot more often.
Hey SLUGS , glad we got a team together. I’m Bill nice to meet u all , I have property in Calhoun county by homer that’s where I spend every free second in October and November. Hoping I can add one or 2 nice bucks for our team, got lucky last year with 2 nice 8pts on opening day.
Hello all, I’m Scott and I hunt a Barry County farm and my parents land in Arenac county! Don’t get me confused with the other Dewy on the team...he’s my older brother aka copy cat on user names! . Freezer is a bit low and my son didn’t shoot anything during youth hunt so I’ll be shooting the first big doe to give me a shot! I’m holding out for a 3.5 yr old or better buck and have a lot of time to hunt this year so we will see how this goes! Good luck! Let’s get this party started!!
What’s up guys? My name is Jeff. I hunt public land in Oakland county and my parents property in Arenac. Freezer is getting pretty low so I’m hoping to knock down a nice doe this weekend. Should be an interesting team with my younger brother on this team too! Let’s have some fun.
This one is going to be a tough one to pass up if I see him, but he really needs another year...I’m pretty confident he’s only a 2 yr old and I’m looking for a 3.5 or older...
Dang, you pass him up and let him go another year aren’t you worried the guy next door won’t hesitate to drop him this year? Or do you not have to worry about that?
That is a concern, but I know for sure he will never have a chance to grow another year older if I shoot him. I’ve shot quite a few 2.5 yr old bucks in my life and I’m really trying to up my game to 3.5+ going forward....
I agree with you, just asked because the places I go I know if I or my son passes and we say let him go another year the neighbors aren’t saying that. Oh well the joys of hunting.
I picked wrong part of property to hunt last year first week of the season and missed out on a couple that hung out at this stand quite a bit. I’ll be in that stand Thursday, one of those bucks I brought my buddy out day after thanksgiving and he shot. After first week of oct he disappeared and that was his first time we seen him back.
Nice bucks gator! Good luck to all and especially all on this team who make it out tomorrow. I’m hoping for an evening sit after work depending on the weather.
Yep I did it last year too! I shoot whatever I want that meets property rules. Too damn bad if my brother let it go. If it walks by me and my freezer is low it takes a dirt nap. Someday I’ll let little fellas walk, just not yet lmao!
Hi Guys I’m Tim. I’ll be in the woods tomorrow chasing a buck I call Paparazzi. He’s been licking my cameras. I think I have to make an official thread for the team. I’ll get on it tomorrow in the stand.
Was a really slow opening morning for me in Barry county. Pulled a card on way in and decided I needed to hang a new stand at lunch so I did and I’m sitting in it this afternoon. Hoping to put some points on the boards with a big doe tonight! They’ve been regular through here almost every afternoon so I’m hoping the keep up the pattern tonight.
I only seen 2 does and 3 babies, still felt great to be back in the stand. Best part was I actually got to bring my old man out with me, health reasons he don’t get many hunts in with me at my place. 30 mins after daylight he had a giant come in 25 yds perfect shot. Pops says he hit a branch and bolt went high and buried in a tree, I think it was just buck fever lol. He was still shaking when I came to get him 2 hrs later. Great part was buck never spooked, browsed some more then right back into thicket it came out of. I pulled 3 cams that were on my way out , only a cpl decent guys so far no giants like he missed. Says it was biggest buck he has seen in the woods, rough to hear cause he has shot some biggins. I’ll be back out Saturday for a all day sit and then Sunday am. Good luck guys
7 points for The Slugs! I’m on the board! It was a tough 7 yd shot! Perfect double lung & heart shot! Went about 90-100 yds and piled up! I checked a trail cam on way in this morning and noticed a group of doe were coming through every evening around 7 pm so I went home, grabbed a stand and sticks and set up on them! Like clock work she came in at 7:10 and I let the Halon 6 and Dead meat eat! Feels good to get some more meat in the freezer!!
Nice work dewy6068. I got out for the last hour tonight, several does skirted me on the neighbors property. It felt good to be out regardless of the rain and hail. Probably won’t be able to make it out till mid week next week. Good luck everyone.
