Description: There are many rivers in Michigan which I have attempted to wade while trout fishing and ended up frustrated due to the water being too deep, or too fast. High, steep banks, or thick vegetation can further frustrate attempts to get around the spots that can't be waded.

To canoe these rivers would be difficult as well, especially alone. The rapids, bends, and log-jams can be a challenge even to an expert canoe team.

www.DryFlyFloatBoats.com, a Michigan based company, seems to have taken all of these experiences and devised the perfect solution. Easily setup, and handled by one person, they handle the most demanding river situations.

Easily transported, the boats inflatable nylon Cordura pontoons can either be left inflated and car-topped, or deflated car-topping only the aircraft-grade aluminum frame as shown in the picture above. The frame can be further taken apart to store the entire boat in a bag for transportation.

Once the pontoons are inflated and strapped to the frame, the light-weight, two-piece oars pop into the oar locks and you are ready to go. Once you get used to handling a water-craft on a river with two oars as opposed to one paddle, you will be quickly convinced that you could run circles around a canoe in terms of maneuverability.

When a good fishing location is found, the boat can simply be rowed to a the nearest wade-able area and you can simply stick your feet down in between the pontoons and in front of the seat. Optionally, the boat can be equipped with a clever quick release anchor system for stopping in water that it too deep to wade.

Rocks and brush protruding from the shore or river bottom are no match for the tough Cordura pontoons. Obstacles such as log-jams can be overcome by getting the boat partially up on the jam and then stepping down in the middle of the boat and lifting the entire craft over the obstacle.

Attention to detail is obvious not only in the product itself, but even more so in the customer service at DryFly Float Boats. They take and service your order personally and absolutely will not let you make a purchase that will not fit your needs.

After spending a day in one I honestly believe DryFly's slogan, "One ride on a DryFly™ Float Boat and you'll be convinced this is the most comfortable, quiet, stable and safe way to float a river or lake."
