Description: The Rino 120 is state-of-the-art GPS navigation and two-way communications combined, with enough memory to download detailed mapping for driving, hiking, hunting, fishing—or just about anything else you can dream up.

It's waterproof and can "beam" your exact location to another Rino user within a two-mile range (on the FRS spectrum) using "Position Reporting". The radio functionality of the Rino 120 provides two-way communications for up to two miles (using FRS channels), and you can talk to friends or family who own conventional FRS radios. There's also a voice scrambler and a vibration mode for silent calls.

The Rino 120 has a built-in basemap consisting of American road and highway detail, along with 8 MB of internal memory for downloading additional road, street, and points-of-interest data from MapSource® MetroGuide™, Fishing Hot Spots™, Topo, or BlueChart® CD-ROMs. The PC-interface cable also comes with the Rino 120.

Pros: Radio and GPS combined,
Cons: Hard to use click stick with gloves

I absolutely love mine. This handy little unit is easy to use with the exception of the "click stick" which takes a little getting used to and is difficult to use with gloves. The click stick is a little button on the front used to navigate thru different screens and menues. There are pull down menues similar to on your computer. This unit comes with all the bells and whistles, like proximity locator/alarm, calender, alarm clock(only beeps once though), calculator, stopwatch, sun and moon riseing and setting times, best times to hunt & fish chart, area calculator, etc. As well as all the normal GPS features you would expect. Not mention some games if you are really board.

Also,it is not only a GPS and an FRS (2 mile max. range) radio, but also a GMRS (5 mile) radio (although you are supposed to get a license before you use the GMRS part). And the peer-peer positioning (can only use on the 2 mile FRS) is cool and can be usefull also. I like it to find my hunting partners when I know they are likely tracking a deer (because they haven't came back to camp yet). It enables you to see the postion (if you choose) of your partner(s) on your screen and go directly to them. Not only can this help you keep track of (or find) your partners (or children), but you can also transmit a location to meet if you wish. I also like the color (green) vs. the bright yellow of the Rino 110 ($170). If it was not for the color I would have bought the 110 as I don't really need the mapping feature (although I think it could be very usefull with the "fishing hotspots" maps).

Also, there is a model 130 comeing out soon. It will also have an electronic compass and a bunch (27?) of Noah wheather stations. These are things I wish mine had, but I can live without. Especially since not haveing an electronic compass (which would be usefull) will help ensure I bring along a "real" compass.

Pros: Combines GPS and radio in one unit.
Cons: Poor speakers.

Overall good features. Easy to learn functions.

Only complaint is the speaker system. Hard to understand what other person is saying.
