Description:

I resently purchased the Seattle Sports Mighty Mite canoe dolly to help move my canoe around by myself. The idea is you place the canoe on this small wheeled cart and then you can easily move the canoe or kayak around by oneself. I loaded up the canoe and took the Mighty Mite for a test drive around the yard.
I wanted a decent test with turns and elevation changes to see it the unit was practical. I was very unimpressed by the ability of the product. It felt like the wheel base was too narrow, causing the load to shift. The cart itself is too low and doesn't get the canoe to a comfortable pulling height for me and I'm only 5' 8" I can't image someone 6' using this. The unit would loosen while strapped to the canoe and then the canoe would slip from the dolly. I moved the canoe about 50 feet before I became so frustrated with the product I removed it and dragged the canoe by itself the final 40 feet or so.
Verdict:
Save your money, I boxed up the Seattle Sports Mighty Mite after the test, it's going back to the store. I was very unimpressed with it's ability and it became apparent almost immediately that it doesn't live up to my expectations. I'll be looking to purchase a similar product from another manufacturer with a different design. I would strongly urge anyone interested in a quality, practical product with ergonomic design to avoid purchasing this product, I feel they will be very disappointed.
