Description:

I booked an instructional fishing charter with Good News Charters because they contribute to this site. My goal was to learn how to use the equipment used in salmon fishing. I wanted to take the learning curve out of just starting out salmon fishing.
I wasn't looking for secret spots, just how to use the equipment so when I do fish I can take that piece out of the puzzle and not just was harware behind the boat.
I asked questions, lots of questions, most starting with why or how. Captain Andrew and his Father were patient and answered them. I learned about downriggers, rods, reels, spoons, lead lengths, hoochies, flies, dipsy divers, wire line, leadcore, planer boards, releases, and setting up multiple lines and
I truely learned enough to be able to fish with that equipment by myself. I won't be an expert but I don't think I'll be wasting my time either.
I'm very happy with they way were treaded and the instruction that we received. I booked a trip for next year and I'm not ruling out a trip later this Fall either.
Money well spent.
