Description:
The MONTEC H.S. is the "High Speed" version of the orginal Montec. Weighing in at only 85 grains this specialized Montec was designed for those archers who insist on the best for their high-speed set-ups. This design incorporates "ailerons" that increase rotation in flight and add stability at speeds in excess of 280 fps, as well as, a rugged geometry for increased penetration.
STATS:
-three blades w/"ailerons"
-one-piece "Head to Thread" construction
-multi-tapered blades
-patented Monoflow Technology
-resharpenable

Pros:
Strong penetrating power and easy to work with.( no
Cons:
Hard to sharpen and they planed like any other broadhead.
They did the job on the deer but after that the broadhead was not useable, and the sharpening job made them shoot terrible. If you don't mind paying $10 per shot then they are a decent broadhead

Pros:

Sharp, solid, deadly, long-lasting, fly straight
Cons:
somewhat pricey

2 for 2 this year with Montecs, both passthroughs...It's easy to put a shaving-sharp edge on them and minimal damage to heads. No parts to mess with, just put 'em on and shoot.

Pros:

Solid Design
Cons:
Hard to sharpen, only good for 1 shot!

These broadheads flew very accurately for me. Shot a mature buck through the ribs and into the opposite shoulder, and did not get a pass-through (100 grain head, Bowtech Tomkat @ 70#, Maxima 350 arrow). However the deer only traveled about 25yds before crashing. I believe that these heads are only good for one shot though. Each time I have hit a deer (or the dirt) the tip is bent and even using the G5 sharpener I was not able to get a good edge back. In that respect I feel these broadheads end up being pretty expensive. Other than that, I love the design and am happy with them.
