Rusty’s Spinner Fly Pattern

Size – #6-#18
Thread – pale yellow 3/0 and 6/0
Weight – none
Tail – moose mane extended past the bend the length of hook shank.
Body - reddish brown deer hair
Wing - hen grizzly tips (tie in 3/4 spent)
Hackle – one brown, one grizzly
Ribbing – thread becomes the ribbing in criss-crossed fashion
Comment – The is attributed to the great AuSable fisherman Rusty Gates who runs Gates AuSable Lodge east of Grayling. If you ever get the chance you should visit his lodge.
