Decided to see what this steelhead thing was all about.  I accepted the invitation of "Chef" from our forum to try the White.  After a slow start, things really started to heat up during the last hour of daylight.  "Chef" caught a nice brown for starters:

He then hooked up with a nice steelhead which he tried to beach.  The steelhead decided it wasn't done yet and decided to make one last run through my legs!  The second hook on the rig caught in my waders and put another hole in them and the fish was gone.  I had some fun too.  I hooked up with a nice steelie that promptly started whizzing line off my reel and bashing my knuckles against the reel handle.  The fish did an acrobatic display worth the price of admission and promptly broke off the egg pattern that I hooked it on.

Caught a few planter browns on grasshopper patterns near Aetna.  Had some fun but was hoping for "the big one".  It was a nice sunny day to be out on the river and the water levels were just right.

Got skunked on the North branch.  Didn't see one riser, nor did I get any hits on streamers.
