shore fishing Lake St. Clair

  1. Anybody do any good from shore on LSC such as Brandenburg Park or any other access areas recently? I hope to go tomorrow and was wondering where the best spot to try might be. I am taking a young fisherman (16 yrs) and hoping to get him into some fish. Thanks for any help.

  2. Did pretty good at Metro this spring, fishing off the docks. If the fishing is no good the scenery should more than make up for it!

  3. Brandenberg does have a wood pier that I have heard people catching some decent fish from. You can also try south river rd. DNR launch some shore fishing there too. Metro beach along Black creek might be a spot to try also.
  4. Oh I forgot. Algonac has a great park along the river. also Algonac state park has a lot of shore to fish from. If I had my choice I would try the city park in Algonac.
  5. Thanks Mike. I am not sure where I will end up yet but appreciate all the replies. Now if only it won't rain.

  6. the fishin is real good at metro right now, from the mouth of the black river to the boat docks. use brown or pearl gitzit jigs or a small silver/black rapala. get there early or go during the week. and remember practice catch and release. good luck.
  7. Well we started out at Brandenberg Park and fished through the end of the rain. The water reminded me of chocolate milk. Visibility was only a couple of inches. I didn't really expect to catch anything in those conditions and we didn't. We headed down to Metro Beach to try the back boat basin and the swamp but still nothing. Water was a little clearer there but not much better. No fish no bites.

    Good Luck all.
