  1. Spring Fun Hunt-Training Day
    Saturday March 20th
    9:00AM-Dusk
    North Branch, Michigan
    sponsored by
    Great Lakes Sport Dog Association

Birds will be provided on a pre-order basis. Good flying Chuckars will be supplied by Bierlein's Gamebirds at a cost of $8.00 each for your personal use.

There will be plenty of knowledgeable like minded people and training supplies (launchers, etc) on hand to assist with all training needs.

A second field with medium cover will be open to run Preserve Style hunting.

Lastly those interested in registering with Great Lakes Sport Dog Association, Steve Lewis the founder and president of the club will be on hand to accept registrations, help with training and answer all questions. Anyone interested will also be able to get a jump on their 2010 Upland Hunt Test points by running a formal test! For more information on GLSDA visit www.greatlakessportdog.com

Plan is to begin with a brief get together to organize things by 9:00am and begin planting birds by 9:30am. GLSDA will provide lunch to everyone at no cost :Daround noon and the day will close when everyone is done working their dog(s).

Anyone interested please email me @ rdmiller74@gmail.com to order birds, provide contact information and receive directions to the training grounds.

Everyone is welcome! Dogs of all breeds and levels! Bring the family on out!

    See you out there!

Those who provided bird orders for the canceled March 6th fun hunt, all orders have been canceled. Please resubmit orders and information if you intend to participate during this day.

  3. For directions to the training grounds PM or email GTHC; that would be "Mario"

    Thanks
    Bob

  4. It may/may not be a conflict, but that's the same day as the RGS trial. Why don't you all just come to that?

  5. I think the handlers interested in this type of event are looking for a training day vs a formal trail. Regarding the fun hunt; this caters to the handler with limited training property and access to live birds . The GLSDA hunt test option is a bonus for those involved (or wanting to get involved with GLSDA) to get a jump on 2010 points for the title they are working on. But most of all events like this cater to people who like to find an organized day, or event to attend so they don't have to deal with any logistics other than showing up and having fun in a non-competitive family oriented environment. If this event conflicts with the RGS trial...or any other trials for that matter I don't suspect it will be a conflict of interest due to different goals.

    Keith K. 8 birds
    Bob Z. 8 birds

A few had contacted be with bird orders for the first scheduled day last weekend. Those orders were canceled along with the day being rescheduled. If you intend to come on out on the 20th please contact me by the 18th so i can place the bird order. I have been contacted by a good many people but bird orders not placed. If you sent me a order and your not on the list above please resubmit the order via PM or email to me as i have cleared out both mailboxes and may have by accident deleted the info.

I will update this list as often as possible.

  8. Bob hopefully I can up again with Mario and help out...

  9. All the help the better. This warm spell should help out with the snow situation and make things a bit easier to walk through. Only a few inches on the ground left and calling for 40's all week.

  10. Looking forward to being there and getting the pups out for some much needed exercise, (both them and me). We had a pretty good turnout at our last training day, and everyone seemed to have a good time. It's great to just get together and train with a bunch of guys and their dogs that's out for some fun. See ya'all there.
