2017 Dreamweaver Charity Salmon Tournament

    We are pleased to announce that registration for the 2017 Dreamweaver Charity Salmon Tournament is open:

    The date of this year’s event will be Saturday, July 22nd at Fisherman’s Landing in Muskegon, MI.

    The format of the tournament has not changed, and we are partnered again this year with Benefit4Kids. As in the past, 100% of donations will go directly to that organization.

    Tournament fees are the same as last year: $75, which includes $70 for the tourney, and $5 for the big fish contest. We are also accepting PayPal this year, and a $5 fee will be added to your entry total to cover PayPal charges if you wish to pay by that method. If you are interested in receiving a PayPal invoice, please let us know and we’ll send an invoice to your email address, and you can pay online via PayPal/credit card.

    If you are interested in fishing this year’s event, please let us know by emailing your team name to setting.lines@gmail.com. We’ll get you added to the list and send the rules and waiver. Signed waivers may be returned with your check, scanned and returned via email, or submitted when picking up your Captain’s Pack.

    Please note that we are keeping this year’s registration to 60 boats.
    We will have a waiting list in case of cancellations or non-payment. Additional boats MAY be added at a later date.

    TOURNAMENT INFORMATION AND RULES:

    • This is a FUN charity tournament. We ask people to share fishing tips on the radio (channel 72). Please keep your comments at a PG rating. This is a family-oriented event.
    • ANY PORT ON LAKE MICHIGAN IS OPEN TO FISH.
    • You may ONLY use the lures provided in the lure pack. If you lose a lure, you are down a lure, no replacing the lure with a like lure in your boat. No alterations of the lures (exception, line on the fly and changing hooks if they become unusable).
    • Fishing may start no earlier than 5:00am. There is no stop time, HOWEVER a team representative must be in line with fish for weigh-in by 1:00pm at Fisherman’s Landing, Muskegon. You will be disqualified if you are not in weigh-in line by 1:00pm. A tournament representative will be ready to weigh fish by 11:00am.
    • Boats may use up to 9 rods in the water MAX at any one time (each team only has 9 lures so this shouldn’t be tough to follow).
    • Three-person DNR fish limit MAX per boat.
    • You may weigh 5 fish of the following: King, Coho, Steelhead, Browns, and Lake Trout.
    • Each fish will be worth 10 points plus weight.
    • Please know what your big fish is. You will get 1 chance to weigh your big fish.
    • Winnings will be awarded as follows:

    1st-Place - 20 tickets, trophy.
    2nd Place – 18 tickets.
    3rd Place – 16 tickets.
    4th Place – 14 tickets.
    5th Place – 12 tickets.
    6th Place – 10 tickets.
    7th Place – 8 tickets.
    8th Place – 6 tickets.
    9th Place – 4 tickets.
    10th Place – 2 tickets.
    Big Fish – Cash.

    • At the weigh-in, additional raffle tickets may be purchased for $5/piece or 5 for $20. Raffle tickets will only be sold on day of tournament, and you must be present to win.
    • All captains/representatives must sign a waiver form prior to getting their lure packages. A representative will be in the Fisherman’s Landing Pavilion from 4:30am to 5:00am on the day of tournament.
    • Lure packages will also be available Friday at the Fisherman’s Landing Campground. Park in the boat launch parking lot and walk into the campground please.
    • Waiver forms are available in .PDF, If possible print them, fill them out, and send them with your payment. (For Waiver form email setting.lines@gmail.com)
    • If you do not show up for the event, your lure package will be donated as a prize and money will not be refunded. To cancel you MUST email (setting.lines@gmail.com) or call Tim or Jo Ellen Beck directly. Phone numbers will be given to captains.
    • We will not be issuing a cancellation of tournament. Each captain is responsible for their boat and crew. In the event of inclement weather if no boats weigh fish, big fish money will be donated to charity and a raffle will be held in the pavilion at 1:00pm.
    • May 1st is the deadline to have entry fees in, this is because we have to order the lures and put the packages together. If you have signed up but not paid by the deadline date your spot will not be guaranteed.
    • Any boat that pays the entry fee prior to April 1st will receive 5 extra raffle tickets in their captain’s pack.
