Question Hummingbird advice

I have a hummingbird wide view several years out of warranty. When I went to use it the 1st time this summer I found the screen would blank out after about a minute. I thought it was loosing power & checked connections. I found when it blanked out it was still on bacause it still made feedback noises when I pushed buttons. I am wondering if this is a user fix or if I need to send it in. If i have to send it in am I better putting the money toward a different brand of finder?
I have seen hummingbirds refered to as Chumming turds, is this the case now with this company? Any guidance is appreciated. Thanks.

When first turning on the unit, scroll down to “diagnostic” before the “start up” begins. This will tell you whats wrong with the unit. Even though your connection are good, the unit will still shut off if “low voltage” is detected. Never heard about the "feedback noises" though. Good luck!

Check the ground. I had the same problem with my chumminturd after the kids were playing hide and seek under the console.......

By feedback noises, I believe he is referring to the chirps when you press a button.

Default Chumminturd

I had one but after I sent it to be fix 3 times, guess where it is now. If you can't fix it your self I wouldn't send it back to be fix unless it's under warranty.
