Since your in midland, i say jays. i was there with my friend hawker looking for her first bow, they were very nice and allowed her to shoot several different bows over a 4 hour period, and then she choose her model.
i would look at the parker easy draw, the alpine micro, the pse spyder i belive it was, the easy draw was smooth and quiet! and quick.
i say let go in there get a ffel for what she likes then shoot them on there range, while you go shop! let her choose what fits her and what she likes not what you like, after all she is the one shooting it not you! let her decide.
hawker choose the parker! but like i said let her decide!

Going to a good pro shop is the first move, but you may need to find a large shop, like Jays that carry a large selection because unfortunately many shops don't stock a number of bows that would fit a woman archer in draw lengths and weight. Have her check out the Hoyt Sierra Tec as well as the models deputy mentioned. It's a great bow, marketed for women, though it might be a bit pricey for a first bow.

another good (albeit pricey) bow would be the bowtech ladyhawk.
