A lot of guys who have those dartons with wood risers and limbs keep them shootable. I know several guys that won't switch. I read about some pro's that still use them.
I have a cottage just outside of Hale and their ranch is right down the road from where I hunt. They have a 1/2 section but I never see anybody use it...

I've got one hanging on my wall. It's the first compound bow I ever bought. To be honost I haven't even pulled it back in 5 years or so. I just might have to get it down for old times sake.

I shot a wood riser Browning Xcellerator for ten years. The riser started to let loose at a glue joint. If it had not started to fail I might still be shoot ing it.
I loved that bow.
Good luck this fall with it.

If you do a search on Wheeler bows you will come up with a few opinions on this site. The tread was posted about 5 months ago. Back in the spring when I was looking at buying a new bow I test shot a Wheeler (cant remember what model) and I was really impressed with the craftmanship. The fit and finnish was really nice and the limb pockets looked state of the art. However after 3 arrows through the bow I couldnt believe how bad the hand shock was and the noise level was quite high. The Wheeler rep said "slap on some leeches and a stabilizer and your all set" I told him with that much shock and noise It wouldnt be possible to tame this bow. Thats just my opinion however and maybe they have since fixed those issues with their newer models.
