Question

I'm pretty sure you've addressed this before but I can't find the post. Do you need a furbearers license to hunt coyote or just a small game license?

This is secion of the 2000 Hunting and Trapping Guide, see page 34.

A small game license is required for MI residents to hunt coyotes.

For coyotes either / or. Small game or fur harvester is fine. That's because some trap coyotes and some hunt them. Coyotes are the only one that is for though, coons, fox, etc., must have fur harvester.

Boehr, from reading the guide, I perceive Bobcat hunting to fall under the small game licensing also. Am I misinterpreting?

Bobcat requires fur harvester, check page 34 near the bottom under the heading "Small Game".

I checked it again. I wasn't misinterpreting. I was just not reading thoroughly. I was going from memory. I hunted bobcat last season, but I had a fur harvest license as I was dabbling into a little trapping also. Thanks!
