Default Higgins Smelt/Perch report, Friday night

Went out Friday night between 7:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m.

Got 57 good smelt, a couple of 10" lake trout, but not a single perch. That was strange.

Used spikes and minnows on teardrops. Spikes were the best. Smaller drops worked better as the bite was light and the smelt were not real aggresive. Glowing teardrops seemed to do better. The bite went off and on all night. There must be millions of smelt in Higgins. The Vexilar was almost solid at all depths.

Fish straight out from North State Park. 40 foot of water.

Good luck,
