Witch model?
I have a global map 100 and it has never hiccupped.
This may help in my decision-making when I feel I need to upgrade.
Of all I have heard, read and compared you can't go wrong with a Garman.

A buddy of has the Garmin 180 (or 160, I can't remember) and it works great, but it's the dash mount not a handheld. I had an Eagle Explorer but it completely died, replaced it with the Globnav12, now I"m losing horizontal pixels, line by line, one at a time. Makes it kind of hard to read. Getting tired of reloading all my waypoints.
