Okay...you got me curious. How much did you pay for that thing and where did you pick it up? Also, how big of a hole does it make?

Whale,
I'm Curious if ya tried runnin the battery dead yet and if so, how many holes you were able to get outta one charge through how much ice? Is the weight comparable to a gas auger? how many consecutive holes can ya cut before ya have to let the battery recover? Looks like a sweet little hole maker! No gas 'n oil to mess with, no fouled plugs, no carbueration adjustments and best of all no reason to yank on a spring loaded cord 20 times! Hope that it works out good for ya, It's made by folks who definitely know a little somthin bout cuttin ice! Might just be the newest addition to my "Gotta have" list.

Looks like a Sweet unit...According to the website, weight isn't bad....8 inch is 29 pounds...
I am also curious as to how many holes thru what thickness...
Having had surgery on my right shoulder and elbow, getting away from a pull start is a MUST...
Hey Whale....Find me up at Hubbard...I wouild like to look at that unit up close..

That auger looks like a winner. Heck if I can get 5-6 holes drilled in 2 feet of ice with my small 12Volt drill, that think would really do some damage.

I bet that things got some torq with the size of that motor. Probably pretty nice not messing with the choke every time you want to punch a hole.

I've only had the need to wack a dozen or so holes through 8" of ice, but the thing never even blinked at doing that. Very sweet unit. Comes with a set od cables that attach for an external 12V power supply of any type (small jumper cable style) should you wear down the internal battery. Internal battery is a gel type 12V very similar to the style Cabelas and others sell. I bought one of those batts. for my graph set up that i use on the ice so i am really covered should I need more power for it. can't see it being a problem though. Good deal.

Does that thing come with a 12 volt adapter to charge off your truck or car battery on your way to the ice? That would be great.

Whale, I contacted Strikemaster last week and talked to a guy who had been testing one, he said he was getting 10-8" holes in 14" of ice. Not to bad but he told me it was heavier than the gas models. He said the battery weighed almost 9 pounds, that seems kind of hard to belive. He also said it cuts about half as fast a the gas lazer models. But who cares like they said earlier, NO gas, Oil, No hard starts. I think that is the ticket. Keep us updated on your testing.

190 rpm, that is what they stated and it sounds right watching this thing cut. I'm not in the "Auger Racing Finals" anyway ! Lots of torque.

What I like about it is when you would walk up to a group of people withthis and auger a hole you would get a lot less looks then if you walked up with a power auger!!
