Got the urge to skip class yesterday and hit the river for some action. Started the day off around the 45th parallel @ around 4:30 am and tried Alpena for awhile with only a bump. Decided since I had not heard of any action, nor seen any fish rising to hit the Ausable at daybreak. Got there and met up with WEEZER and fished til around 11:00 or so with only one hookup for a few headshakes on the flyrod and that is it. Did get o witness WEEZER almost get attacked by a beaver however which was hilarious! Did you ever get a certain part of your anatomy out of your throat?!?! LOL! From there checked out the East Branch up by 55 with no luck at only one hole. Ther river was blew out, so I did not bother with the rest of the river. No fish to be seen. From there we hit the Rifle and fished for eyes and suckers. All in all, I only brought home a sunburn! I did see lots of wildlife though, skunks, deer beaver, muskrat, turkeys, etc... spring is finally hear!

Man them beavers is mean creatures. No kidding, I read about a guy that ran one over with his car, when he got out to check on it, the animal attacked him and bit him in the leg. He had to call 911 for help.
I sure do envy you guys, what a beautiful day to be on the river!

Yeah they migrated out of my throat and back down where they belong, Thank you very much! That Was one hell of a shock!
One thing that I would like to clear up before anybody asks. When he said that we were fishing eyes and suckers. We weren't targeting eyes, That would be illegal. It should have been phrased that we were "sucker fishing" with the hopes of catching multiple other species. Which I did 1 walleye, promptly released.
