Default Review of Midland G-11 GMRS/FRS radios

See: http://www.michigan-sportsman.com/pr...mrs_radios.htm

These things performed better than I expected they would but I did hop them up a bit.

Doh, looks like I'll have to go back into the review tonight and tidy a few things up in terms of grammer. I hate that when I publish late at night and go and re-read the thing the next morning and try to figure out how I wrote that

Steve thanks for posting the review. I am more motivated now because one of my Audiovox Frs/GMRS went for a swim in Huron last weekend!

Keep in mind that the numbers I quoted as I stated in the article were over pretty much wide open space. I have experienced 1+ miles through heavy cover and you'll get the same from most of the bubble pack radios,... probably less if you can't supe up the antenna, and more over water or ice.

ok, i read that governmental regs limit the length of FRS radio's antennas...... thats fine and dandy, but is that for OEM radios only? Or can a person modify the antenna as they see fit?? Is it the illegal wink wink or would it be illegal throw your butt in jail....??..??
