I live about 3 miles from there and I have only seen a couple people on the ice. The other night I seen some kids had a hockey rink shoveled off. On a lake about 10min. from there there is only about 2-3 inches of ice and it is not the clear ice. If you go be very careful...I would wait a week or two.

Did you happen to hear anything re. other lakes in that area, specifically wamplers or sand? I seem to hear varying reports from everyone concerning ice conditions. Thanks.

lindser, havent been on any others but when i ice fished evans 3 weeks ago there was only 2" of ice.124 going to wamplers has the bridge out so i didnt get to see over there, after this weekend i wouldnt worry about a thing,we saw a four wheeler on evans over in the area that was open water 3 weeks ago.ive never had any luck fishing sand lake, what do ya catch in there?good luck. and for jeff the only thing i can say without the whole world ending up there is theyre biting wre they were last year,we caught them on black speckled with green moon jigs, ive only got one left and cant remember where i picked them up from im hoping i can get more,i had looked at knutsons but didnt have the black(moonjigs).see ya on the lake.

Fished Wamplers Lake today, about 6 inches of good ice. Fishing was kind of slow for me, only some smaller ones.

Buckmaster, is there any place to access Evans lake that isn't private? I wasn't aware of any. Regarding Sand Lake, a buddy and I used to real good there on the west end,but there is no parking there now and it is a long hike from the public launch. I was by there today and only saw one guy in front of the access.Good fishing to everyone.
