Question

Does anyone know the closest place to buy bait around Rochester area? The place I used to buy minnows and such is closed and am hunting for a close place to do so. Thank you.

Try some of the local sporting good shops in your area, I'm sure they can point you in the right direction.

Not sure if it is the closest place but Hook Line and Sinker in Lake Orion carries bait. Their minnows seem to outlast the minnows I buy anyplace else. They use some blue stuff that must keep the minnows alive longer. I think I gave you the phone number before but just in case I didn't it is 248-814-9216.

You might want to try yahoo yellow pages for Rochester and type in bait and tackle or fishing bait.

TRy the bait shop at lakeville lake. Also I think there may be a bait shop just north of 26 mile on van dyke or just south 1/4mile of 26 and vand'yke. Im not sure if there still there its bee a while. Good luck! Johnr

I live at 26 Mile and M-53 and that bait shop is not there anymore. The building is still there but no one runs the place. It hasn't been open for maybe 2 or 3 years now. Lake Orion should be closer to Rochester than Lakeville unless you work out that way. If you just want waxworms or crawlers sometimes the gas stations or stores like Gander Mountain or Dunhams carry some bait but not minnows.
