Question

I'm curious as to whether anyone from southern MI, specifically the Irish Hills area posts on this site.I am 45 minutes from this area, and would like to hear ice reports/fish reports if anyone has been out on the ice. I usually fish Wamplers lake. Thanks for any info.

I came out Hwy 12 today through Irish Hills. I didn't see anyone fishing on the lakes there. From what I could see it didn't look as if anyone had been out drilling holes close to shore. No shantys on the lakes, but I would think the ice could still be to thin for that. Hope this helps.

Fish

I have been fishing to west of that area, at Crispell and Swains lakes. Swain ice ranged from 2.5 to 4" and crispell had a good four inches. My guess would be that wampler would be a little thin. We caught only a few gills at swains and decent amount of crappie at crispell. I would be happy to share my jackson/irish hills info with you if you care to do the same. I fish for just about everything under the ice so I love to hear from you jackson area ice fishermen. I have yet to hear of any hot spots in the area. Has anyone heard about how much ice Devils lake has? talk to you all soon. Eric

Purple Face

now that we've gotten all this snow and with the warm temps and freezing rain I'm sure the ice is a mess. I talked with someone from the Devils Lake area who saidthey haven't been out on it yet. Hopefully we can get some wind to blow the snow off the ice and then get a good cold snap. I'M READY!
