Post thursday report from south rr

fished from 10:30 am till 5:30 pm (canal) caught close to 50 fish,
took home 24,largest 10', the rest 7 to 9'
seen alot of big pigs but no interest in biting, could get them around the hole by jigging but once they got close to the bait they just moved along..tried all the live baits, raps, tube jigs ...
bad wind,, hopefully it will die down in the next day or two

Default try this, it has for me more than i few times

i tie a fly above my jig about 6 to 8 inches with a 1 - 2 inch lead on it. the lite biters will take the fly over the jig sometimes. i like to use red or black/red but other colors do work. dont put any bait on the fly at first. if they dont go for it try a spike or mousee. wont hurt to try it. i use a # 10 or #12 hook size. if there is alot of long hairs on it trim them back so there wont be as much obstruction when they come up and just mouth it. the fly is lighter too so it is easier for them to suck it in. then set the hook. i take alot of big fish on the fly. hope this helps.

Pwog, try using corn. It really seems to bring the fish in. They will bite on it for a while then back off. Worth a try to pick up a couple of extras.
