Cotten rd....Thursday report

Fished north of cotten and out rather far, about 100 yrds past the shanty with the windsock. Started fishing around 7:45. Caught about 20, none over 6"....I didn't even see a fish between 9:15 and 10. Didnt see any pigs either out there. Once again it was a sandy bottom. Dragged the shanty back into shallower water and set up over the weeds. Seen some bigger fish here, but again only had about 15 dinks and 2 about 10". They went back in, not worth getting the knife out. Strange as it may seem didn't catch any fish on minnows. They either hit a #16 gold beaded caddis nymph tipped with a wiggler or a firetiger rap with a rubber on it. (Piece of red ballon)..Talked to a few other people and they didn't seem to be doing much better. One guy said that he had about 12 keepers, that was the best that I heard. Ice is in good shape, not much snow. Water is still clear.

Hope you weekend warriors punch alot of holes, my 14" saw is about 2" too short.....Man I hate when that happens!!

Anybody fish brandenburg or fairhaven lately????
