Friday night about 6PM the ice started to break apart about 4-4.5 miles out. Two men got back to the marina and called the Coast Gaurd. By the time the CG, Fire depts and border patrol got there all the fishermen were off the ice. Its not sure if they got off at Stoney Point or they floated till hitting safe ice. My buddy was out scouting yesterday and fishermen coming off the ice said be careful. the ice was inconsistent thickness.

Just heard the Coast Guard rescued a couple off an ice floe last night. Use caution when that wind blows!!!!!

That was in Ohio. But using caution is always good.

Anybody have any ice updates? I'm sure the gale force winds didn't help. Thanks.

That's what I was afraid of. Guess I'll stick to the inland lakes.

Default i will keep you updated when possible

looked at it today and its trying to freeze up again. all we need is another week once it locks in. im going to keep my eye on it though. wish we would have got a east wind at about 15 knots about 3 weeks ago. we need a good pile up out about 3 miles to help lock the bay in.

Post Breast Bay Looks Like Hell

Went out to the bay to check the ice and it looks bad. Not a sole on the ice. Looks like a shanty was left out there about 1.5 miles to sink as well as one that looked like it started to sink. There was open water up near shore at the marina and open water past Stoney Point. I think the ice fishing is done for the year at Breast Bay
