Anyone ever had any luck there? I read the post about getting permission to fish there and think I could but wondered if it was worth the effort. It's close to the house and when I only have an hour or two to fish I thought it would be a good place to try. I saw two shanty's out there today and the ice looked good.

gunrod, went by there yesterday and there was one fisherman there and he had a few fish on the ice. one of which looked like a crappie. I was looking through binoculars so not really sure but there was deffinatly some fish on the ice. I've fished there before with mixed results, it seems its hit or miss. but its close and well worth giving a try when you only got a couple hours. One of them shanty's is my buddys brothers and he spears from it. I ussually park over on the other side of the canal by the houses because my buddy knows someone there and we walk right through the yard. I have seen people park in the resterant parking lot. I guess the best thing to do would be to go in and ask permmission. but I'D do it when there not to busy.

I might have a hook up with a guy at work that knows the management. I just didn't know if it was worth it. Next Saturday I only have a few hours and was going to take the step daughter and niece for a couple of hours. Very little walk would be good for them. I could do airport bay also but between the walk and the parking situation I don't know if I want to take the kids there. I know I can get them into fish on Chemung too but most of our time would be wasted with driving.

gunrod, lake erie metropark is also real easy walk , just park the truck and your right there.

Thurs, Friday or Sat. Not sure which one yet or all of them. Probably a week day though, weekends are crowded.

Always is on the weekends. If we get there on a weekday early we should be ok.
