pykemikes's downriver report!
friday morning walked to canada from grosseille near bob-lo. 2 guys 67 jumbos caught & also 3 kicker pike one legal at 36" youres truly messed up the gaffing at hole! sun report 2 guys grosseille airport bay. 2 limits of gills with 9 kicker perch. one monster pike spotted but spear was left in another truck  lots of people on the ice most were not catching a thing! pyke

ICE CONDITIONS
as of friday there was 8-14 inches of ice south of dunbar & sullivan islands walk took approx 45 minuts. since then a lot of open water has appeared. oh yeah i weigh 280 lbs. the walk was worth it boy was i sore! cant wait to take the boat over. pyke

LOL,,,Paul, I swear I seen his post earlier and I was going to PM you.....Only way it could be done though, yep, good spot in that corner on the downstream side of the crossdike.
Screw that stuff, there still has to be a hell of a current between the hole-in-the-wall and the upstream side of Sugar. That current screams between Sugar and the dike.

current!!
i went with a guy who does this often when the ice jams up. not to be a know it all but doesnt the sag river have a strong current also? we are suppoed to go back tom. usually they take boats over there its a little nerve racking walking but it is only 4-5 ft most of the way you can see bottom.

well if I would have guessed, I Think that you took the only way possible. man that still seems mighty risky. and yes that is a heck of a current between sugar and the hole in the wall. oh well you got more guts than I do. think I'll stick to a boat.
