Think you need a road trip Robert. Higgins Lake - smelt. 281 of 'em last night in four hours. Yum.

Croton
Was on the Little side of Croton Sat night. Entered across from the trailer park. There were a lot of people fishing in the bay around the causway (right were you get on the ice). They were catching a few 3" perch.
I went over on the other side of the island (the one with the little cabin) .... absolutly nothing over there. A few other guys around the island and they had nothing to show for it either.
Sorry to here you did no good on Fremont. I drove by after church and thought about coming back, but did not see much activity through the binoculars. Stoped by Second Lake this evening (it is just north of Fremont) and did not catch anything either.
I am getting frustrated with fishing around this area!!! Do not know if it is me, or what. I've fished McClaren, Nichols, 2nd, Croton, Benton and Walk-Up Lakes this season all with no real luck. Granted I'm new to the area and seeing a lot of lakes for the first time, but 3 or 4 dink gills and a couple of 3" perch for all my efforts ..... well it is making me wish I was back in Wisconson!!!

schaaed1,
We drove by Nichols last weekend and there wasn't even anyone on the ice. It didn't even look like anyone has been on it from the North launch. I've never fished it but it is supposely planted pretty heavy with walleye. Were you fishing for them or panfish ?
Thanks,
Pat

SA ULTRA MAG -
I was just jigging for 'gills etc. I was down by the south launch. This was a couple of weeks back (during the cold spell). Actually, I did catch a couple (2 to be exact) of SMALL gills there. There were vehicle tracks in and out of the south launch ... but no one fishing.
I figure if I can't even catch a stinking 'gill.... I better not even waste my time on 'eyes!!!!
