Deer leafy buck..

monday night i decided to sit on a funnel that leads out into the winter wheat field. this is the the only way out of the swamp for 300 yards. i got set up about 3 and had a pair of buttons hang around for about 25 minutes. i saw 3 bucks two 4's and a 9 chase does under my stand and out into the WW about 4:00. Then around 4:30 i had a group of 5 does come thru, with a 6 and 7 following them about 5 minutes after. they went into the WW too. 10 minutes after that a big 11 came thru at 30 yards walking the ridge, but he didn't present a shot i wanted to take. i flipped my can call twice at about 5 and waited. i was watching the bucks chasing in the WW behind me. when i looked back in front of me i had 5 deer about 40 yards away on 2 different ridges. i could see horns on 3 of them for sure. 2 of them started a fiight. The big bodied buck came to the base of my tree where i made a scrape before i climbed up. He was a 2.5 yo 8 point. he worked the scrape for 5 minutes while i was drawn back waiting for him to give me a shot thru the brush. he hit the licking branch and moved enough to the side for a clear shot. I hit just to the side of the spine getting one lung and the artery along the back. the rage 2 did what it always does. he made it 400 yards into the swamp. it was a PIA with a foot of water in it. probably should of passed this guy... all in all i saw 9 different bucks and he was the 3rd biggest. he dressed out at 201 on a certified scale.
