Wonder if anyone has any advice for locating a property owner on a piece of property next to where I hunt.I know he doesn't live in the area,I have his name from a county plat book and would like to try to contact him about leasing the land for hunting.Would the county tax office give out any information....

Or are there any services that for a small fee could provide and address and phone number.Did a search of the name in the metro area and quit counting after fifty.

The county or more likely, township office should help you out. I dont beleive that information is private. I know that is how my dad contacted the landowner of a parcel next to ours.

Mckey : the county Auditors office has the tax records that show who owns the property. I use them all the time for replacement costs on buildings and it save me a lot of measurements. They would also have the property's mailing address. It cost me 25 cents in some countys here in Ohio and 50 cents in other countys. If you call them know hte phusical address and the township the property is in . Platt books some times are outdated when they are printed. Hope this helps you ?

The tax equalization office at the county courthouse should have the information that you need. While you are there you should also be able to pick up an overhead picture of the area. The cost of one of these used to be $6.00 a couple of years ago. Overhead pictures are a great way of seeing what the neighbors property looks like with out tresspassing on it

If you want to see the neighboring land go to terraserver.com!It takes a little while to get where you want, but it can be very beneficial.
