Turkeys in Wayne County
On three occassions over the last month I have seen turkeys in New Boston/Huron Township (just south of Metro Airport). Has anyone else seen turkeys in this area? I just thought it was interesting to see how much they are spreading around. The one flock I have seen a couple times has about 12birds in it. A few hens and young ones.

Yep
Drive that way every day. Saw a HUGE tom this spring, Pennysylvania between Inkster and Merriman, just walking across one of the fields gobbling his fool-a## head off Could see his beard dragging from 100 yards away
If you look at the zones, the eastern border of the closest one ends at I275 so makes sense as that's only a few miles west..

I live in Romulus on Barth by Hannan Rd. I used to see them inside the airport fence quite a bit. I have actually seen them down the street from me.
A funny story, one day a couple of years ago I was getting my boat ready. It was spring time and the wife and I were cleaning and the kids were down in the cabin playing. They found our alarm clock and came up top and started playing with it. They started turning nobs and set the bell off (old style that hits the bells). After a few seconds I grabbed it and shut it off. Just then I heard what sounded like a turkey gobble. The wife and I looked at each other and she asked if that was a turkey. I told her I thought it was, so I took the clock and set the alarm off again. Sure enough got another gobble. We did this for several minutes back and forth until I got tired of hearing the bell go off. We have a couple hundred acres of woods behind the house and he was hanging out in there. I never thought I could shock gobble a turkey sitting in a boat in my driveway

Took Warren Ave in from Dearborn got near I believe 24th or 25th st in Detroit and said what the heck is that. Turkey ran across the road. Not sure how to size them but it looked pretty big. Tried to get the camera phone ready but it kept on running.
