I have a friend at work who is interested in starting to pursue the mighty "steel". He has a place up near oscoda and i was wondering what the conditions are like up there. Are there any fish in the river yet, and how is the condition of the river??

any help is appreciated.

thanks.

i live and run a guide service west of foote dam there are some holdovers in the upper river, but your best bet for fresh steelies is the lower river, drift small bags 4 or 5 eggs per bag.if you decide to fish the upper for holdovers use wigs or waxies.
