Just came back from 4 days on the Sandy River. Boy, that river sure has changed. Fishing was marginal at best. There's hardly any fish up high. That's very unusual for the end of October. We did manage to hit a few fish in the middle and at the mouth, but not like it should be. The Locals contibute that to the water-clarity, but I don't agree. There's a lack of fish. I have fished that river for many years and never seen fishing like that. Guys on the pier go out at 2am and cast spoons and catch Steel in the dark.
Maybe in the future, I'll hire Stelmon and his Dad for a guide. Hopefully there will be a good November run and the fish will stay through the winter. In my opinion, the runs are getting smaller every year. (at least the last 2 years)
Better days, Shoeman
