Ausable report

Water is still low even with the recent rains. Water temp is still kind of warm also. I checked it several times and at different locations but it always read 68. It's pretty hard to launch a boat on the river right now as the water is so low. the launch at the peir is open and some fairly large boats are getting in and out there. But up river, if you've got any thing larger than say 14 ft your probably going to have trouble getting it off the trailer.
As for the fishing? Well, I'm sure it's no surprise to most but it hasn't really got started yet. Theres still bass jumping at bugs in the lower river. We did manage a couple fish, but they weren't exactly stacked in there like cord wood. Kind of more like trying to find a needle in a haystack! Had a great time though, felt good to be back on the Ausable! I'll try to get some pictures posted as soon as I get them developed.

Yeah Another couple weeks and/or a good rain will get the season started on the Ausable. Can't wait to start catching fish without driving 3 hours!
