Walleye Opener
Has anyone fished opening day on the Tibb, starting at midnight? I'm thinking of trying it tomorrow. I usually start to fish the opening day eyes @ dawn, but want to try something new. I know there are guys that do it, but how's do they do?

Absolutely. A few of us were there before midnight to perform the "Walleye Opener Rights". Several prayers, more than enough "secret elixirs" passed around (Crown Royal, Bud, Jack, and ???) , more prayers etc. Treehunter2, JoesCat, Hoffie1 and myself with a few extras including TH2's son Ken and Hoffie1's uncle with a couple friends of his were at station watching the clock. At 12:00:01 the first onslaught of offerings were fired into the water on the Tibb. outside of Shields. The weather was perfect, no breeze, 95% full moon, cloudless sky. The fish on the other hand was less than perfect. During the next three hours prior to my exiting, several small size Walleyes were landed, (JoesCat lost his "Walleye Virginity" !!!), an approx. 8lber, a 3lber, a couple of Bullheads, a Channel cat, one carp and a few morre 'eyes lost in the battle. A bit dis-appointing compared to other trips on the Tibb., but a whole lot of fun, great company, a few less nusiance Walleyes are running the water now !!! Excellent time was had indeed. Now today, I've had a couple hours sleep, another attack is being planned. Stay tuned. Good luck to all.

Our opener on the Tibb sucked! We boxed one 'eye and that was it. We started about 5:00 AM, and the 'eye came at about 9:30. Worst opener I've had out there. Did anyone else do better? How about you guys on the Sag?

I read another post on another site that said that they slammed the Flint River eyes opening day.
