Question Perch in AuGres

Need a little help fellas, My buddy said that in the past, around this time of year, he cleaned up on the perch in AuGres. He said he fished off some long peir. This sounds like a good outing for me and my 4yr old son, but I would like to at least get a few perch to keep him interested.

If anyone has any reports, rumors, or suggestions please post them here. Thanks a ton!!!

Jace, The only long "pier" around AuGres is the breakwall at the mouth of the AuGres river. Years ago perch fishing was real good there. Now it seems real spotty. The good side is you can drive far enough out so that even a 4yr old can walk to a fishing spot. A little later, say in middle May and after a walk to the end,you will get into some prime catfishing.
If you decide to try it yet this spring, take crawlers and minnows , as there is quite a variety of fish in the river and it will increase the chances for the little guy to score. Also plan on doing some casting with spoons for yourself, season permitting walleyes. northerns, largemouth, browns, salmon, steelies, and much more may be available. Goodluck!
