Default Trenton Channel 04-16-02

Went to the Trenton Channel today for the first time. Joined in with the other 60-80 boats there. Launched at 6:45am and caught three by 8am. Lots being caught up untill about 8:30 when it died. Saw some caught after that but not many. Fished just south of the Edison plant to Calf island. All my fish came on plastic minnows. Water temp was 46-47 degr. Clarity was about 2-3ft.

Lost 5 jigs to snags. What the hell is down there? Should have took my camera (underwater).

What the HE!! are ya thinking Mike? You want to lose that camera too!!!!!!!!!! just kidding man

I fished yesterday in the trenton to but south, down at Horse Island only about 6 boats not counting myself and picked up six pulling wire #7 chartruse and #11 with somekind of custom paint job, I won these at the March DWF meeting. the colors on it are pink, yes I said pink, yellow and black. Lakeside tackle supplied the lures for the club raffle. and your welcome for the plug.

Went out today on the canadian side and did real well pulling wire. That's a different story, will post with pics later this evening,

Walleyeman,

I know exactly what lure your talking about. Found one floating in one of the canal's near Horse Island. Have not tried it yet think I might now, though.

Walleye Mike,

There is alot of rock. If you combine that with the 5 to 7 MPH river current you will get alot of snags. Consider yourself lucky if you only lost 5 jigs. Try hand lining down by Horse Island and breaking the lips off a couple brand new Rapala's.
