Default Yankee Springs - Report

Took my tube out to Williams Lake this afternoon. Caught about 50 gills 6 1/2" and 9 1/2" all on my flyrod using a white popper. It kind of suprised me but the fish were holding tight to shore. I also heard that Robbins bay on Gun Lake is hot right now for gills and crappie. I'm going out again tomorrow but I'm not quite sure where yet. Anybody else fishing the area lately?

Maybe a little far for you Al but Miner in Allegan has been hot for the last week. Is Williams that little C&R lake going towards Hastings from Gun?

Yep that's the one. It sure is hard to put back them 9-10 inchers but it's nice to go out and have a blast and not have to worry about trying to clean them. A buddy and I went back out there today, we took his 9 month old son on his first fishing trip. We caught a bunch there and then went to another little lake and caught dinner. There ain't nothing that beats fresh gills for dinner. How do you get to Miner Lake, I've heard the name but never been to it.

Miner is maybe 2 miles N.E. of Allegan, if you come into town on M222 you will see the access sign.
