Default Stinger Hook Mod for Erie Dearies

Just curious if there is anyone else that is tying on a Stinger hook off of the back of their Erie Dearie's. I know there are probably alot of people doing it for Jigs. Very productive in Bolles Harbor and Brest Bay. Anyone else do it?

I always tie stinger hooks to the back of my Erie Dearies. I usually use a #8 or a #6 treble hook on a piece of 8# mono tied directly to the hook on the erie dearie. Will usually let one drag as I'm drifting and cast the other. The stinger helps to hook those fish that just bite the tail off. I told a friend about this that was going on a charter a few years ago in Ohio with 5 other guys so he tied a few up and took them along with him. He said everyone was laughing when he put it on after about hour of fishing he had out fished the rest of the boat 15 fish to 5 fish. They all had them on by the end of the day. He said the charter captain had never seen any buddy rig them like that either. When they returned a year later charter captain even had some rigged like that.

GOOD FISHING

Or when you tie on the Erie Dearie, leave an extra long tag on the knot, 6-8 inches that should give you enough line to tie on another #6 or 8 hook to it. It gives you another way to tie a stinger. Works on jigs also.
