We have been catching perch on Muskegon Lake for a few weeks now. The best spots have been in front of Bear Lake channel or in front of the paper mill. The 60-70 foot range has been where most of the fish have been coming from. I have had my best luck on minnows or wigglers on flicker spinners or pearl tear drops.

GOOD LUCK AND GOOD FISHING
TIM

Have not heard anything about eye's yet, but it should be any day. A few browns are about all I have heard about.

Anyone got a first hand report on them eyes. I'm going to check it out Sat at 3am in my boat if anyone wants to meet me there in their boat let me know. I have some 2 way radios and we could cover twice as much water and hopefully get on those fish.

Thumbs Down Fishing Good :),catching bad :(

Went out of Holland Saturday . Fished from 6:30 Pm until 12:30 Am . Never had a bump Talked with a couple other boats , They had the same results . We fished from 8' to 30' of water . Fished with hot-n-tots , willy's worm, rapalas #18, shad raps and a couple others. I think We're just too early ??? My fishing buddy even, trolled all the way to Saugatuck and fished around the pier head .
I'd love to know where all these reports of walleye catches are comming from ??? Stien posted a similar report from Port sheldon all the way to Holland ! .

Default walleye in the big pond

Talked to the D. N. R. fish counter at S. Haven yesterday. He saw and recorded info on 4 from Port Sheldon, all of which he said were 6# plus fish. Said He has creel censused many all the way from Pentwater down to St. Joe over the last few years in the spring. I don't see where he has a reason to be untruthful. Further, we catch them on the breakwalls in Manistee from time to time in the spring and late fall. I've also fished the ramp area on the Manistee channel successfully in the middle to late summer. Remember, the state record walleye came from the Big Manistee system. (Pine River, 1950's I believe.)
