Default Recalled my boat!

They Recalled my boat!

They want me to take my boat up to d&R Sports and give them my boat so they can put a better floating devic in my boat. They say that it may not need it bu tthe coast guard put out the recall. I just put in a deck, carpet, trolling motor mount, etc. I wonder what they are going to do.

Here it is fishing season and the boat is finally ready and I get a recall.

Thumbs Down

I got a recall for my 1995 Smokercraft and responded. I was supposed to take it to the dealer and they said 2 weeks. I ordered the recall kit from Smokercraft. They sent me 5 pieces of styrofoam and 2 aluminum plates with some rivets. I ended up filling my storage spaces with the foam and lost about 80% of the storage space in the rear compartments. Better than capsizing in rough seas though. I sent a scathing letter after losing much of my storage space (one of the main reasons I opted for this boat), and they sent me a jacket, hat, and some stickers with an apology. I also had to change the capacity plate with new load limits and fill out a recall compliance certificate and sign it.

That is all a bunch of crap. I didnt buy the boat to put a bunch of money in it and then have them change the boat. I wonder if they will give me a new boat.

What kind of boat is the recall on. We got a boat from them last summer. I hope it's not one being recalled.

The boat is a 1648 Tracker Grizzley. I guess they have to put more foam in the boat. Its not to keep a float, but to make sure it floats if water gets in the boat.

Default Recall

I had a recall on my boat as well. I have the fisher 1648 all weld which I believe is the same shell as the grizzly. Supposedly they have to add flotation in the back of the boat. The dealer said it is about an hour job. I am just worried that the dealer is going to do a cobble job! We'll see as I have an appt. to take it in on March 4th.

Buckmaster.......let me know the outcome of your recall!! I will put a b*&ch if they are going to compensate me for my troubles!

Oh boy,
Here we go again...tracker/grizzly/fisher...
sorry to hear it. I got RID of mine last year after the hull FAILED. What a terrible outfit to do "bussiness" with.

Just got my boat back from the recall, and I called Tracker and bitched them out, so they are going to pay for my mileage. I thought that was decent. They put more floatation in the bow, and in the back. What a pain in the butt.
