Thumbs Up Good Price on Precison Trolling guide

Just ordered the Big Water edition of the Precison Trolling guide from Cableas online. Sale price 14.95 plus shipping. Total was less then 20 bucks. Seemed like a good price, just thought I would pass it along. - Wobble

I have never read this guide or previous versions. After you read it, please post a review. Let us know if it is worth the money.

Thanks

if you run dipsies it is well worth the money.

As for the other ones. If you run crankbaits it is well worth the money.

and yes you got a good price on it.

I don't want to rain on anyones parade but, if I'm not reading it wrong then the PRECISION guide is $29.99 and the BIG WATER guide is on sale for $14.95. Am I wrong here or just not reading it right? These are two different books. Still a GREAT deal at $14.95.......http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...l&N=4887&Nty=1

These books deliver precision trolling techniques that have been tested and monitored using scientific data collection and evaluation. With detailed dive curves for over 150 of the most popular baits, and comprehensive instruction on trolling mechanics, "Precision Trolling'' dramatically improves your trolling efficiency. The authors cover trolling with snap weights, super lines, lead-core lines and Dipsy DiversŪ to give you the edge while on the water. There are also chapters on trolling speed, trolling spreads and the implications of line diameter. If trolling is a part of your arsenal already and you want to fine tune your approach, or if you're looking to start from scratch, Precision Trolling is an invaluable tool. Front and back covers are treated for water resistance, and the pages are cut from heavy card stock, so you can keep this book on your boat, where you'll need it most. 152 pages. Written by Dr. Steven Holt, Mark Romanack and Tom Irwin.
The Big Water Edition is a comprehensive guide that covers precise dive depths and diving data for all sizes of the Dipsy DiverŪ, Slide DiverŪ, Jet DiverŪ, Deep Six and Jon Mini Disks. Research was also conducted on the running depths of snap weights, lines of different test, lead core lines, and one pound lead balls.

I have the "Big Water Guide"...much better for dipsies than "Precision Trolling", covers braid and mono and various size rings. Even has wire (but I don't). I find it very useful for targeting a depth when I mark fish or know what depth the right temperature is at.

Big Smile Just Got it in the mail

Got the Big Water Guide in the mail. It contains information regarding every Dipsy made (with or without o-ring), Slide Divers, Deep Six, Big Jon mini divers, Jet Divers, Snap weights and multiple types of lead core.

All Dipsy tests are shown on each of the settings. All the tests are shown with different popular line types (mono, wire and braid).

I also found the information before any of the charts to be interesting also. Good info on how speed, line size, trolling pattern vs wave action will effect dive depth.

I think it would be a great tool to have for anyone that runs dipsys for walleye or salmon.

At least that is my opinion. -- Wobble
