Muskegon holiday weekend
Had a good time fishing muskegon over the long weekend. With the exception of Tuesday morning fishing was good all weekend. Monday morning was rediculous as we were boxed and back in the pier heads by 7:30 a.m. The water is warm, and the big kings have arrived!!! For the first time in a long time we had over a 10 pound average with most of the kings running 9-13 pounds with some big guys in the catch as well. Also ran into some steelies who didn't seem to mind feeding out of temp in the warm water. Most of the fish were stuffed with 10 + alewives. We did best in 95-125 FOW on riggers 65-100 Down with stinger spoons in both stingray and standard sizes. NBK, Carmel dolphin, Blue dolphin, Hud special, and Grim reaper were all good producers. Spin Doctors and flies on wire divers also took a handful of fish as did various leadcores and coppers with spoons.

one of the big guys from the weekend

This big steelhead didn't mind feeding near the surface in the warm water and smashed a stinger "orangegasm" on a 3 color.
Did anyone else get out?

Those are some great fish! Good to hear I have a couple of trips scheduled there this summer. Mid July and Mid August. I can hardly wait.

heres another Ahab victim from the weekend...
Steve failed to mention that the fleas were as bad as I have ever seen. You know its bad when you leave a rigger down for 45min without a rip and when you check it, it looks like this....
