Default boat and motors warranties

if buy a used boat(2001 or 2000) are the motor and boats warranties tranferable?
or do only some manufactuers do this?

is it free?

thinking of buying a used boat and want to make sure and unexpected problem a year or so down the road is covered.

thanks jeff

Check with the manufacturers of the equipment you are looking at.

Transfuring a warrenty probably will be difficult, most warrentys eather are for the origional owner, or are pro rated according to how old the boat is. My lund goes down 10% each year, I have some problems now but the boat is allmost 8 years old. so the coverage is only 20% of the cost of the repair. I'm going to fix it Myself. I would ask whear the person you are buying the boat from did most of His fishing, If it is Lake Erie, or St. Clair, I would be leary. If he fished small lakes you could be more sure that the boat wasn't used in the rough conditions of the big lakes. Good Luck!
