Bigger and healthier on lake michigan, theres a ton of small baitfish too which is fattening up the fish but making the bite tought too. A lot of 15-21 pounders were caught this weekend from ludington-Frankfort. I'd say were in for bigger fish but still not many 25-30 pounders this fall.

I've been monitoring the Wisconsin boards and have heard of quite a few hogs this year (i.e. 20+). I think things are looking up size-wise. I'll know more once they come close to the piers...

My buddy has personally seen two kings at 25# this year at Kenosha, Wisconsin.

The fish are bigger this year...and healthy as hell..

In lake Huron, seems the salmon are normal size as last year.... but, there are some bruisers out there. I have seen lots of HUGE alewives and BIG herring in that lake. Alewives that are almost 8 inches long and herring pushing 12 inches. Check out this thread with this guys king.

Look at that herring. We were there cleaning fish also. 1 laker and 2 kings. We lost others that day. A couple weekends ago a guy was out trolling and had a king rip apart his snap swivel on his dipsy and lost the fish and tackle. It was huge I guess. The kings that are feeding are the big ones hitting up the big herring and alewives.

I heard kings up to 31 pounds caught already. That was this spring around Leelanau islands. (spelling) Guys trolling around schools of bait with body baits.

I saw a pic the other day from a charter capt. on the WI side (Keewanau??sp) of a king that was every bit 25#+...if not approaching 30#.

The current LOC Derby leading fish on Lake O is #37.9. Guys are saying that it will be beaten, as they were catching 25# kings in April over there.

I don't think fishing can get any better than it is this year on the Great Lakes. Erie is on fire, LM's fish are growing like crazy, Lake O is out of this world, and Lake Huron is coming back.

Don't sell that boat just yet!
