Default All things must end

I have fished the great lakes since 1966 and have been a charter captain since 1976 but Sunday we decided to trade for smaller boat and if we don't trade it's listed with a broker for sale. So if not sold by Labor Day weekend that will be my last time fishing Lake Mi. I've seen and fished when the water level was very high and the cabins were washing in to the lake and now when the water is low again. I 've seen days when we would fish inside the rocks at Ludington pump storage make a pass and how many baits you were trolling is how many fish you would have on at once and and seen days when never marked fish or had a bump. I fished in twelve foot waves (and it's a hoot netting a fish up higher than your head) and I've fished in fog so thick that broke a diver rod off and didn't see all of the boat that did it. But of all the things I've seen and done while fishing the what was old and we gave up on is the new whats the hot way new way to catch fish! Now days we troll a lot faster than we use to so I guess thats why the old killer spoons don't work as well as the glow all day stuff we use now but come late Sept I'll have a lot of used and abused stuff for sale.

I'm with you Erik....

Twelve foot seas?!?!?!

Sounds like "Deadliest Catch, Lake Michigan Edition".

It will take a LOT more than one bad season for me to abandon my beloved Maize & Blue!

In my younger days I was know to be the only one fishing when it was to rough for the car ferry Badger to cross. I was even crazy enough to go out in 10fters. with my 18ft. Starcraft C.C. till a wave broke over the transom right in the middle of my buddies chest and we had water a foot deep the lenght of the boat. We quit right then and headed for shore with just two small lakers for our trouble! I'm trying to trade for a 1995 21ft. SeaRay.

Let me know when the garage sale is. The lures I bought from you earlier this year were great...I just need more time to wash them in the lake!
