Default What's Your Name?

Idea:

How about starting a thread for members to list their boat names and the port that they fish out of so when we are on the water and hear a boat name we will know that they are a Michigan Sportsman member.

HemlockNailer: Boat Ketchacan, Port Oscoda

Getaway - easy to remember eh! It would be easier to list the ports I don't go out of:

None...lol

My favorite ports are the following (in no particular order):

Spring - Harbor Beach, Port Austin, Grindstone City, Au Gres, Tawas
Summer - Oscoda, Ludington, Manistee, Rogers City
Fall - Au Gres, Au Gres, Au Gres, Ludington

A few years ago, my friends that I would fish against in our little private tournaments, would say that the fish would somehow home in on my boat like a "magnet". They said that it gives me an unfair advantage (everyone needs an excuse). From that point forward, they started calling me "Cap'n Magnet". Well that is all they will call me on the radio now, so I don't really have a choice.

Name painted on the boat - Loon Song
Name given to me on the radio - Cap'n Magnet

I keep it in my driveway during the fishing season.
Mostly launch at Grindstone, Augres and Oscoda.

Magnet

#2 19?? 16' Rich-Line as "Muskie Madness"
Haven't landed a muskie with her yet but that time is a comin'

It will take a LOT more than one bad season for me to abandon my beloved Maize & Blue!

I'm with Getaway, Oh the joys of a trailerable boat!

Named her SARA SMILE after my beautiful daughter.

Spring, Lexington, St. Joe, Erie(Sterling)
Summer,St Joe, Erie(Sterling), Oscoda, Manistee, Pentwater
Fall, Erie(Sterling), St Joe

Gotta try Harbor Beach this summer!

Also gotta get Walleye Mike to give up some of those Walleye spots now that Sterling is closing for the summer.

Boat Name: HOTWIRED
Radio name: HOTWIRED (Channel #68)
Port: Garage in Roseville
Launch: St.Jean, Metro and now New Jefferson Launch

Boat: 1996 16ft. White Grumman with "HOTWIRED" on sides.
30HP Evinrude with 6HP Evinrude Kicker.
Boat is customized for handlining, jigging & trolling. Also has a 28lb thrust bow mount to keep "Dafishkid" happy for bass.
Best thing I ever did was switching to a 4 blade at the advice from "Carl's". Boat gets on plane quick and hits 25mph in a 1ft chop with 2 guys.

Please don't hesitate to give me a call on the radio, I'm usually on the fish (walleye) and I'm out ther every Saturday & Sunday morning and 1 or 2 evenings during the week.

Later,
HOTWIRED

Since the wife and I are named Jack and Dianne, we named our small boat 'Lil Ditty' from the Mellencamp tune.
