They will be letting schedule out within a few weeks. BIG new changes coming this year that I think people are going to love. Information will be out soon.
MICHIGAN WALLEYE TOUR
Its Beginnings and Looking Ahead!
The Michigan Walleye Tour began in 1995 with a few anglers getting together to hold weekend tournaments in an attempt to test their skills, to learn about catching walleyes and teaching others how to at the same time. The M.W.T. quickly grew in the next several years to become the largest state run walleye tournament trail in the nation.
Now entering its 20th season in 2015, the M.W.T. is making headlines once again with the changes that will be implemented going forward. Setting the standard for the new generation of tournament angling, the M.W.T. will be offering the largest guaranteed first place payouts in the history of the M.W.T. while still offering anglers to compete and learn on a platform like never before.
The M.W.T. will be paying out a GUARANTEED $8,000 First Place prize at each event in 2015. Teams may now consist of up to three anglers and we are encouraging teams to take a youth fishing during the tournament. Getting more kids involved and recognizing them will be at the forefront of the M.W.T. at each event.
The M.W.T. consistently strives to provide competitive yet friendly, family oriented events in which anglers can test their skills and share their knowledge with others. The M.W.T. has always been about challenging anglers to fish new waters while learning how to catch walleyes under all fishing conditions and locations which is why the schedule is so diverse from year to year. The M.W.T. has covered all of Michigan during its last 19 years including the great lakes, rivers, inland lakes and reservoirs.
The M.W.T. schedule for 2015 is as follows:
April 11th & 12th Detroit River (River Only)
May 3rd Bay City Saginaw River (River Only)
June 13th & 14th Au Gres - Super Tournament
July 11th & 12th Port Austin Lake Huron
There you go anglers. We are having a meeting on Jan. 18th (sunday) at the K of C hall on river rd in Bay City, mi at 7:00 pm. There will be more in depth information on this subject. Come one Come all. This could be a good time to sign up for your membership in order to fish in the M.W.T. events. See ya there and thanks
