Never heard of a ranch with woodcock on it.

Edit: let me add to that -- seems like with the strict federal guidelines in place to regulate woodcock hunting, and the fact that woodcock are migratory (ie wouldn't stay on the preserve, and you can't prevent wild birds from migrating to the preserve), you'd be hard pressed to convince the feds to allow you to take more than three on a preserve. I've been wrong before though!

Not possible with the Federal rules on woodcock.

The reason I asked about the preserve is because, as a lot of folks on this site know, there's a TON of editing that goes into putting a show together. Although stranger things have happened, I find it hard to believe that everyone in that editing room missed that.

Does anyone know for sure, if the same guy shot all four birds and that they were all woodcock?

Edit or not it sure looks like the guy bagged 4 longbones!! I watched that clip 3-4 times and everything in it says he screwed up. from the old guy saying "wow you shot 3 with 3 shots, Iv'e never seen that before". and the shooter saying " i cant believe i hit that one too! : as he is holds up 4 fingers. but hey I guess when your a show biz hunter guy and you have a couple of the best bird hunters on camera with you. a little over bag limit snafu does't count!!! other than the obvious mistakes it was nice seeing a little bird porn from Michigan on the tube.
